Lucasfilm Will Start Production on the Disney+ AHSOKA Series This Month

As the first season of The Book of Boba Fett winds down, Lucasfilm is about to start production on the upcoming live-action Star Wars series Ahsoka, This is a series that a lot of Star Wars fans are incredibly excited about because we finally get to see Ahsoka back in action as she embarks on a journey to find Ezra and Thrawn.

Production Weekly recently revealed that Star Wars: Ahsoka is going to start production by the end of the month. The report also notes that The Mandalorian Season 3 will wrap up production by March. If this is the case, there’s a good chance that we’ll see the show premiere by the end of the year.

Rosario Dawson stars in the series as the title character, and she will be joined by Natasha Liu Bordizzo (The Voyeurs, Guns Akimbo), who is set to play the live-action version of Sabine Wren.

After the fall of the Empire, Wren and Tano teamed up to embark on a mission to find Ezra. It’s also been reported that Thrawn and Ezra will show up in the series and that they might end up being played by Lars Mikkelsen and Mena Massoud.

When previously talking about the series, producer Dave Filoni talked about how he is going to get to continue the journey in the animated shows in this new series.

"It's thrilling, I gotta tell you. It's something you imagine doing for a long time. And then it's kind of startling when you're sitting there, and now you have to do it.

"I thought of this adventure for Ahsoka for a long time, and it's interesting to see how it's evolved. Years ago, I never would have imagined that it was sprung from a branch of a tree that had anything to do with a guy [like] Din Djarin, or a child that looks like Yoda. It's a great lesson for me on how, when you have other creatives like Jon Favreau, they can help lend such dimension and depth to what you're doing."

We’ve got a ways to go before we see this series released, but it’s hard not to be excited for what is coming.
