Lucasfilm's Kathleen Kennedy Says They Aren't Necessarily Finished with the Skywalkers in STAR WARS
For the longest time, we’ve been hearing from everyone involved with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker that this film would close out the Skywalker saga. But, I guess that doesn’t mean we’ve seen the last of the Skywalkers.
On the red carpet of the premiere of The Rise of Skywalker, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy teased that they aren’t “necessarily” done with the Skywalkers. So while this movie will close out the saga, they aren’t done telling stories with the Skywalker family. She explained:
"I have to say it's a mixture of emotions, I have to say because we've had such an incredible time. It's just flown by these five years and doing these three movies and to realize that we're completing the saga and we're not finishing the Skywalkers necessarily, they could always in one way or another reappear but for right now it is bringing it to a close."
Kennedy obviously didn’t offer up any additional information so at this point we can only guess as to what Skywalker characters Lucasfilm might want to play with more in the future. But their stories can continue on the big screen or DIsney+.
While there are a few different Skywalker characters to play with, what characters would you like to be explored more in the future? I guess there’s always a chance that a young Luke Skywalker could appear in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series.
