LUCIFER Star Tom Ellis Closes Deal to Return for Potential Sixth Season

Netflix has made a deal with the devil. While Netflix and Warner Bros. Television continue to consider the possible sixth season of Lucifer, star Tom Ellis has closed a deal with them to reprise his role as the title character if a sixth season moves forward.

The news comes from TV Line who reports that “the actor’s extension all but clears the way for the series’ Season 6 renewal at Netflix.” Meanwhile, many — if not all — of Ellis’ co-stars have existing deals that carry them through Season 6.

The upcoming fifth season was supposed to be the last, but the series is doing well enough on the streaming service that they want to keep it going for at least one more season, which will consist of 10 to 13 episodes.

This is far above and beyond what the fans hoped for when they pushed for the series to be saved after Fox made the mistake of canceling it.

The upcoming fifth season will consist of 16 episodes that will air in two separate, eight-episode chunks. We don’t have a premiere date for it yet.
