Lucy Halliday Cast as Co-Lead Daisy in THE HANDMAID'S TALE Sequel Series THE TESTAMENTS at Hulu

As The Handmaid’s Tale is about to air its final season, Hulu is preparing to dive into another series based on a novel by author Margaret Atwood in the upcoming show, The Testaments.

The story will be a sequel series to The Handmaid’s Tale, and it has found its third co-star in actress Lucy Halliday (Blue Jean). She has been tapped as a lead opposite Chase Infiniti and Ann Dowd the Hulu show.

Just like the mothership series, the sequel is created by Bruce Miller who serves as showrunner.

The Testaments takes place in the dystopian theocracy of Gilead more than 15 years after the events of The Handmaid’s Tale.

The story follows the lives of three women, The Handmaid’s Tale‘s Aunt Lydia (Dowd), Agnes (Infiniti) and Daisy (Halliday), whose fates become intertwined as they uncover the secrets of Gilead and the resistance against its regime.

Halliday’s Daisy is a young Canadian teen, whose life is turned upside down when she learns of her connection to the Republic of Gilead.

As Deadline reported, the hope is for The Handmaid’s Tale lead Elisabeth Moss to guest star on the sequel, reprising her June character who is linked to both Agnes and Daisy.

Miller executive produces alongside fellow Handmaid’s Tale executive producers Warren Littlefield of The Littlefield Company and Steve Stark, with MGM Television as the studio.

Young Scottish actress Halliday has just wrapped the feature California Schemin’, directed by James McAvoy.
