Lucy Liu and Lawrence Shou Face the Darkness in Trailer for the Intense Indie Drama ROSEMEAD
The first trailer has been released for Eric Lin’s gripping feature debut, Rosemead, and it looks haunting.
Inspired by a harrowing true story, Rosemead follows Lucy Liu in one of the most powerful and emotionally charged performances of her career.
Liu plays Irene, a terminally ill Chinese immigrant who discovers her teenage son’s disturbing obsession with mass shootings. As her health deteriorates, she’s forced to confront a terrifying question: how far will a mother go to protect her child when the world around them starts to fall apart?
The official synopsis teases: “Lucy Liu delivers a transformative performance as a terminally ill Chinese immigrant who uncovers her son's disturbing fixation with mass shootings.
“As her health deteriorates, she takes increasingly desperate and morally complex measures to protect him and confront the darkness he’s drawn to.”
Lawrence Shou stars alongside Liu as her troubled son, joined by Orion Lee, Jennifer Lim, Madison Hu, and James Chen.
Set against the backdrop of a tense Chinese American community, the story dives deep into fear, love, and moral sacrifice, painting a raw portrait of a family pushed to the edge.
Rosemead opens in select U.S. theaters on December 5, 2025.
