LUKE CAGE Actor Mike Colter Teases He's Been Talking to Marvel and "It'd Be a Shame For Me To Not Pop Back Up"

Ever since the Marvel shows left Netflix, Luke Cage actor Mike Colter has been vocal about his anxiousness to get back to the role and continue the character’s story.

And now that Daredevil: Born Again is gearing up to show us its second season, with fellow Defender Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) returning, Colter is doubling down on his plea to get Luke Cage back in the game.

The actor told The Direct, "Look, I mean, here's the thing: I have been talking to Marvel, and Jessica's back, and there's a lot of story left to tell. And I just think that it'd be a shame for me not to pop back up." He went on to explain where he would like to see the character go, stating:

"I definitely would want to see him find out what it's like to have the power and complete control of the neighborhood and see if he can do the right thing and at the same time, keep his hands from getting dirty."

As Colter points out, there's quite a bit left to be explored, including his ongoing relationship with Jessica Jones and his Heroes for Hire partnership with Danny Rand, a longstanding element of their shared comic book history. Colter added that he'd be up for being part an ensemble, showing up in a movie, or once again anchoring his own show:

"I think it’s all of the above. I think all of the above is on the table, because there’s so many places you can take Luke Cage’s story. Obviously, there’s Jessica Jones, where they left off, there’s where Luke Cage’s second season left off, there’s opportunities to come into Daredevil’s world, and there’s story for Iron Fist. There’s just so many places you can go."

I think Colter and fans are on the same page, and we would all be excited to see him team up with Matt and Jessica once again! Do you think his admission that he’s been talking to Marvel means we may see him at least cameo in this next season? I’m hoping that’s the case.

Daredevil: Born Again season 2 debuts on Disney+ on March 24th.
