LUKE CAGE Star Mike Colter to Star in Hulu's MONSTERLAND Horror Anthology Series
Luke Cage star Mike Colter is set to take on the lead role in a new horror anthology series set up at Hulu titled Monsterland.
The series is said to be “full of encounters with mermaids, fallen angels and other strange beasts.” The story follows “broken people driven to desperate acts in an attempt to repair their lives, ultimately showing there is a thin line between man and monster.”
Colter will take on the role of a character named Brian in an episode titled “Newark, New Jersey.” That episode centers around Brian, “a grief-stricken husband (Colter) who blames himself after his daughter disappears under his supervision. Guilty and despairing, he refuses to believe she is dead and is unable to move on with his life or be emotionally available to his wife.”
Monsterland is based on the short stories from Nathan Ballingrud’s collection, North American Lake Monsters. The series was created by Mary Laws (Succession, Preacher), who will also write and executive produce the series.
I enjoy watching shows like this, so I’m looking forward to seeing how this Monsterland turns out.
