Lunchtime Doodles With Mo Willems, Bedtime Stories With Josh Gad, and the Toy Story 4 Craft We Loved

The best part about this insane week has been the time we have been able to spend with our families (I say as I scream at my children that the youngest is not allowed to hit his brother with a bat, and the brother better give the bat-wielder a turn on the computer), and the cool things we have been shown from creative people on the internet. Two fun online activities my kids and I have enjoyed are Lunch Doodles with Mo Willems and Bedtime Stories with Josh Gad.

Mo Willems is the genius children’s book author and illustrator behind the Pigeon books (Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus, The Pigeon Finds a Hot Dog), Knuffle Bunny, the Elephant and Piggie books, and many more. This week, he launched a YouTube Series where he teaches kids how to draw the characters from his stories. It’s really fun, and we have loved following along.

My kids have also enjoyed hearing Josh Gad, who they know as the voice of Olaf from the Frozen movies, read them bedtime stories. He is a dad who is trying to get his own kids through this quarantine the best way he knows how, so it is cool that he is lending his voice to kids during this confusing and stir-crazy time.

Also, I ordered a few things for my kids this week from Amazon to help us beat the boredom. As our local library has closed, and it is our normal go-to for spring break crafts, I got them some sticker activity books, some new puzzles, and a Toy Story 4 craft set that was a huge hit! All three kids, ages 11, 9, and 4, participated, and are still playing with what they created. The kit comes with all the essentials to make a Forky, a Ducky and Bunny, a Woody badge, a foam Buzz Lightyear, and some extra crafting supplies. Everything was easy and fun to assemble, and can be ordered on Amazon for $10.53 (originally $12.99).

I’ll include photos of the crafts below, and the first episodes of Lunch Doodles and Bedtime Stories. Let us know what you’re watching, making, and reading to make the time pass below!
