Lupita Nyong'o Is the Latest Star to Join the Ensemble of Christopher Nolan's Upcoming Event Film at Universal

Oscar-winner Lupita Nyong’o (12 Years a Slave, Black Panther) has joined the ensemble cast of Christopher Nolan’s next event film at Universal. She joins previously announced cast members Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway and Zendaya.

The movie is expected to start shooting in early 2025, but sources note that loglines or descriptions of the film that have been published to date are wrong, and details are being kept under wraps.

The film will have an Imax release on July 17, 2026, which falls in line with a number of Nolan films that have had similar release windows.

Nyong’o was most recently seen in the Paramount pic A Quiet Place: Day One. She also lent her voice to the Universal and DreamWorks Animation film The Wild Robot.
