M. Night Shyamalan Almost Connected GLASS with Another One of His Horror Films
It blew my mind when director M. Night Shyamalan turned his great horror thrilling Split into a surprise sequel to Unbreakable. That was such a cool movie-going experience and also funny because more than half of the people had no idea what was going on and didn’t understand why the rest of the audience was so excited.
After that, Shyamalan completed the trilogy with the 2019 movie Glass, which some people thought was disappointing, but I liked it! We’ve now learned in a recent interview with Shyamalan that he considered connecting Glass to another horror film of his.
He told The Hollywood Reporter that the other movie he wanted to link it to was his surprise hit, The Visit. He explained:
“There was one tie-in that I almost did. It was in Glass when they all got to the mental institution. I was going to tell a story about The Visit and how two people escaped from that same hospital. I was going to do it, but I chickened out.”
That would have been kind of cool! Too bad Shymalan chickened out on that. It doesn’t really matter, though, The Visit plays so well as a stand-alone film. It’s that movie that restored my faith in Shyamalan and his filmmaking abilities. That proved to me that he still had it!
What do you think about Shyamalan wanting to connect Glass with The Visit?
