M. Night Shyamalan is Developing a Psychological Thriller Series For Apple

Apple is adding another big original series to their growing slate of projects. M. Night Shamylan has signed on to develop a psychological thriller series for the tech giants creative division. The news comes right after his first series, Wayward Pines, was canceled after two seasons. I wasn't the biggest fan of that show, but Shyamalan seems like he's on a roll with producing good quality entertainment again, so I'm looking forward to seeing what he's got cooking for this next series.

Apple has given a straight-to-series order for the project. There are no details on what it will entail yet, but it will consist of 10-episodes in its first season and Shyamalan is set to direct the first episode.

Shyamalan is currently in post-production on his upcoming film Glass, which is a sequel to both Unbreakable and Split. Glass is easily one of the most anticipated films in 2019... for me anyway. I love that he finally got around to continuing the story that he started with Unbreakable!

Shyamalan's new series joins a roster of scripted originals from Apple including Damien Chazelle's untitled drama; a morning-show drama starring Jennifer Aniston and Reese WitherspoonSteven Spielberg's Amazing Stories anthology; Ron Moore's sci-fi space drama; Steven Knight's See; and a comedy starring Kristen Wiig. Apple is looking at spending $1 billion on scripted originals. I'm really interested to see what comes of it.
