M. Night Shyamalan Starts Work on His 17th Film Project
M. Night Shyamalan reveals that he has started work on his 17th film project. He makes the announcement fresh off the release of his recent thriller Trap, which was not a good movie.
The filmmaker shared a photo of a red notebook, with the following note: “As a ritual for each film, I pick a notebook that speaks to me and I write notes, ideas for the new film in that.
“When it’s overflowing with ideas, I go to outline then script. This is the notebook for movie 17! This bright red felt just right!
“As #Trapmovie passes 80 million in theaters, I am so grateful and begin the new one inspired by all the support you have given me over the years.”
Shyamalan has been on a streak of duds with Old, Knock at the Cabin, and Trap. Hopefully, this next film of his ends up being a good one.
Shyamalan is currently an executive producer of the upcoming thriller Caddo Lake, which is set to premiere on Max on October 10, 2024.
In that film, “When an 8-year-old girl mysteriously vanishes on Caddo Lake, a series of past deaths and disappearances begin to link together, forever altering a broken family’s history.”
As for what Shyamalan is planning for his 17th movie as director, we’ll just have to wait and see.
