M. Night Shyamalan Teases That GLASS Isn't Going to Be the Movie You Think It Is
Director M. Night Shyamalan likes to play with the audience in the films that he makes. His endings always contain some kind of surprising twist that no one sees coming.
Fans were completely blown away at the end of Split when it was revealed that the story was connected to Unbreakable and a set up for something bigger to come. That something is the upcoming movie Glass, and you can bet your ass that Shyamalan has some kind of big surprise waiting for fans.
From the trailers that have been released, you might think you know what the movie is going to entail, but according to the director, Glass is not going to be the movie you think that is is.
In a recent interview with Den of Geek, the director is asked was asked about the film being set in the real world and being referential to our reality, and this was his response:
“I don't want to spoil anything for you, but there's a lot of references to the movie that it knows you think it's going to be. It's very aware of that, and it will tell you that, and then it becomes this other thing.”
That cryptic statement will certainly give fans something to think about and speculate on! It certainly implies, though, that the movie is going to be purposefully messing with the expectations of the fans.
I’m already excited for the movie, but this little statement got me even more excited! I can’t wait to see what exactly he’s going to deliver and how this story is going to play out. I can’t help but think whatever happens, it’s going to blow people’s minds.
This whole story that started with Unbreakable is going to end up being something totally different than we think it is and that’s pretty awesome.
What do you think it will be!?
