M. Night Shyamalan Wants to Get in on Some STRANGER THINGS Directing Action

Director M. Night Shyamalan wants to jump on board the Stranger Things creative train and direct an episode of season two. I'd actually be ok with Shyamalan directing a Stranger Things episode, I really liked his last movie, The Visit, and his upcoming thriller Split looks great as well.

There's actually a good chance that Shyamalan could direct an episode as he has already worked with the Duffer Brothers. They were writers on his series Wayward Pines. That was their first real gig. So with Shyamalan giving them their big break, the least they could do is let him direct an episode.

In an interview with Digital Spy, the filmmaker said:

"My boys who do Stranger Things, they did Wayward Pines for me. They were round my house and I was like, 'Well, you can hire me back guys!'"

It'd be interesting to see if the Duffers ask him to direct an episode. One thing is for sure, Stranger Things is the kind of project where Shyamalan can let his talents fly. He also talked about his reboot of the cult '90s series Tales from the Crypt, which is currently in limbo due to some rights issues. He explained:

"I really want to do that and hopefully I still will, but it's hugely complicated. It's particularly difficult because of the rights issues. There are so many estates involved and people involved from the original...."

Shyamalan has a long line of bad film projects over the years, but I hope he continues this new streak of good projects he's been involved with. Would you like to see him take on a Stranger Things episode?
