Mace Windu is Alive in the STAR WARS Universe According to Samuel L. Jackson and George Lucas
We all thought we saw Mace Windu die in Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith when his arm was cut off and he was thrown out of a window high above the city on the planet Coruscant during an altercation with Anakin Skywalker and Darth Sidious. But maybe he didn't die, maybe Windu lives! Samuel L. Jackson believes that it would take a lot more than just cutting off an arm and throwing him out the to kill the Jedi Master.
During a Q&A on Twitter, the actor explained that "Jedi can fall from extremely high heights." He expanded on that during an interview with EW on SiriusXM, saying:
"Of course he is! Jedi can fall from amazing distances. And there's a long history of one-handed Jedi. So why not?"
He's right! There's really no reason why Windu wouldn't be alive. Jackson goes on to say that he thinks Windu went into hiding after the Jedi Purge and Order 66. The actor shared his theory with Star Wars creator George Lucas, and apparently he backs up Jackson's theory.
"George [was] like, 'I'm okay with that. You can be alive.'"
So I guess that leaves the door open for Windu to return to the Star Wars universe at some point in either Star Wars: Rebels or even another film, which would be pretty cool. Who knows if that will ever actually happen, though.
Here's a far out fan theory I'll throw out there... What if... Mace Windu... is Supreme Leader Snoke?! Oooooohhhhhhh!!!! Ha! Yeah, right.
