MACGRUBER Series Has Been Picked up by Peacock With Eight Episodes Starring Will Forte

The series MacGruber has been in the works for a while now, and is finally settled in a new home at the NBC streaming service, Peacock. This is a great fit considering the series is based on the SNL skit that was created by Will Forte, who is reprising his role in the show. The skits also inspired a film adaptation of the same name that was made in 2010.

Here’s the show’s synopsis:

Peacock’s take on “MacGruber” will begin with the main character, described as America’s ultimate hero and uber patriot, being released from prison after rotting in there for over a decade. His new mission will be to take down a mysterious villain from his past—Brigadier Commander Enos Queeth. With the entire world in the crosshairs, MacGruber must race against time to defeat the forces of evil, only to find that evil may be lurking within.

Forte is writing the series alongside John Solomon and Jorma Taccone, with Taccone also serving as director of the series. Check out the series announcement below, and let us know if MacGruber is a series you’re looking forward to.
