Mads Mikkelsen Confirmed To Play Gellert Grindelwald in FANTASTIC BEASTS 3

A couple of weeks ago it was reported that Mads Mikkelsen (Hannibal) was in talks to replace Johnny Depp as Gellert Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts 3. Not long after that, Mikkelsen said that those reports were just rumors.

Well, today Warner Bros confirmed Mikkelsen has been cast as Gellert Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts 3. It’s official and that’s sure to make fans happy. A lot of people seem to like the thought of Mikkelsen taking on the role of this character. Personally, I think he’s going to be awesome! I actually think he’ll be much better in the role than Depp.

Apparently, director David Yates picked Mikkelsen as his number one choice for the replacement. Mikkelsen is best known for his roles in Casino Royale, Doctor Strange, and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

Fantastic Beasts 3 is set to be released on July 15, 2022. What do you think about Mikkelsen being officially cast in the film?
