Magneto's Looking Pretty Beat Up in This New Photo From X-MEN: DARK PHOENIX

Thanks to Empire, we have a new photo from X-Men: Dark Phoenix featuring Michael Fassbender as Erik "Magneto" Lehnscherr, and he's not looking too good. It looks like he had the crap beat out of him.

The Simon Kinberg-directed film is set in 1992, "roughly a decade after Apocalypse and finds the X-Men dealing with being heroes. An unfortunate side effect is how that fuels Charles Xavier's (James McAvoy) ego. He starts sending the team on more dangerous missions, including one to space that ends with Grey going to some very dark places."

When talking about her character, Sophie Turner says, "It's about duality, darkness and light, this sense of her being a completely other person and struggling with that..." In the film, we'll see Magneto and Jean Grey form a relationship. It was previously explained:

"A confused Jean turns to Erik Lehnsherr (Michael Fassbender), the rogue mutant who parted ways with the X-Men at the end of Apocalypse and now lives on an island named Genosha, a destination comic-book fans will recognize. He's set up this place for mutants that don't have a home to go to. They have to work as a community, but it's a safe place for them and they'll be accepted."

If Magneto helps Jean embrace these new powers she has growing inside of her and guides her to the dark side, this image could show us the disastrous results of that.

The film also brings back Jennifer LawrenceNicholas HoultTye Sheridan, Alexandra Shipp and Kodi Smit-McPhee. X-Men: Dark Phoenix will be released on November 2nd, 2018. For more information on the film, click here to get caught up on the latest details!
