MALEFICENT Sideshow Collectibles Action Figure Review
Regardless of what you thought about Disney’s Maleficent, it’s a role that Angelina Jolie was pretty much born to play. She looked amazing as the classic Disney villain, and Hot Toys has created a 1/6th scale collectible action figure that captures the look of her character perfectly.
Sideshow Collectibles has provided me with one of these figures to look over and review, and as you’d might expect from Sideshow and Hot Toys, the detail and craftsmanship of the figure is superb - especially in the costume she’s wearing. It’s amazing to see the kind of work that they put into the tailoring up close and personal. The pictures don’t do it any justice. The gown is the real deal, and it comes along with a black collar as well a snap-on extension that gives the whole costume a fuller, impressive look.
The figure also comes with five interchangeable hands, and the accessories include the character’s staff, her Raven, a pair of green flames that come out of the palm of her hands, and a pair of wicked cool black boots.
The head and face of the character is specifically hand-painted, and it features a movie-accurate facial expression that comes with detailed wrinkles, skin texture and make-up specifics that bring the character to life like no other toy company can do.
Hot Toys completely nailed the look of Maleficent, and it’s a must-own for anyone who is a fan of the film, or a collector who is into Disney stuff.
