Man Ape From Black Panther Confirmed for AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR
It's official. Marvel plans on using every single character they can for Avengers: Infinity War. It has just been announced by an IMDB tweet that Man-Ape will be a part of the film as well. He will be played by Winston Duke, who is making his MCU debut in Black Panther.
This brings the cast list up to... I lost count, there are so many characters! This new information makes me wonder what sort of villain he will be in Infinity War. Might he make an alliance of sorts with Black Panther to battle Thanos, or will he be one of Thanos's pawns in a larger game? A third thought, which I hope doesn't happen, is that he could play a bit part in the beginning of the movie for the Avengers to beat just to show off how strong they are much like Baron Von Strucker in Avengers: Age of Ultron. I hope this isn't the case. While I appreciate the chance to show off villains in different ways, having Von Strucker taken out like a little bitch in Avengers 2 disappointed me.
If they are going to use Man-Ape I hope that he actually plays an interesting role in the story. Thanos already has a pretty big team of villains that back him up, so having him require assistance from earth would seem odd, but it could be cool to see The Masters of Evil make an appearance in the MCU at one time. Maybe the film will have some heroes in space fighting Thanos, while other heroes back on Earth are defending from other villains who have teamed up. We'll just have to wait and see.
