Manny Jacinto Says He Would Love to Return to the STAR WARS Universe to Play the Stranger

Manny Jacinto has starred in some great movies and series including the entire run of The Good Place, the hugely successful sequel Top Gun: Maverick, and season one of the anthology series Nine Perfect Strangers.

But one role he didn’t get to see through to the end is that of The Stranger in the Star Wars series The Acolyte. Season one of the show was left on a cliffhanger, with a second season expected, but it was surprisingly canceled, much to the chagrin of fans as well as the actors who starred in the show.

When asked by ComicBook in a recent interview while promoting his upcoming film Freakier Friday, if he would want to return to the Star Wars universe, Jacinto said emphatically:

“I would love to. I would love to run it back. I love that character, that franchise, that team. We’ll put it out there. Star Wars is a big universe, galaxy, what have you. But if the fans want it, I’m down and ready to go.”

Since canceling the series, Disney has released a prequel novel titled The Acolyte: The Crystal Crown, which centers on Dafne Keen’s Jecki Lon and Charlie Barnett’s Yord Fandar, and a Marvel one-shot comic about the Wookiee Jedi Kelnacca.

Jacinto will next appear in the Disney sequel Freakier Friday, staring Jamie Lee Curtis, Lindsay Lohan, Julia Butters, Sophia Hammons, Manny Jacinto, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Mark Harmon, and Chad Michael Murray, in theaters on August 8th.
