Margaret Atwood Writing Sequel to Best-Selling Novel HANDMAID'S TALE

Margaret Atwood tweeted the news recently that she is penning the sequel to her best-selling novel-turned-series, The Handmaid’s Tale. The original dystopian novel came out in 1985 and has always had a fanbase. But as the Trump era has come upon us, it has taken new meaning, and feels closer to home for some.

The novel gained new, recent success in 2017 when it became an award-winning series starring Elisabeth Moss, Joseph Fiennes, Yvonne Strahovski, and Ann Dowd. The novel’s sequel will be entitled, “The Testaments.” It will take place fifteen years after the end of the first story and will be narrated by the voices of three women. Here’s the tweet with the news from Margaret Atwood herself:

It’s pretty exciting that we will get more story from the original source! I love the series, and can’t wait to see where Atwood takes us from here.
