Margot Robbie May Join Daisy Ridley, Domhnall Gleeson, and More in PETER RABBIT

Sony's live-action/CG hybrid film adaptation of Beatrix Potter's Peter Rabbit already has an impressive cast, but they're looking to lock down at least one more big name before production gets underway.

Talk show host James Corden is voicing the title character, while Rose Byrne and Domhnall Gleeson are playing live-action roles — a woman named Bea (maybe a fictionalized version of Beatrix Potter herself?) and the menacing antagonist farmer, Mr. McGregor. Daisy Ridley and Elizabeth Debicki are on board, too, and now Deadline reports that Suicide Squad and The Wolf of Wall Street star Margot Robbie is nearing a deal to lend her voice to one of the film's characters. There's no word on who she would be voicing, but in the books, the mischievous Peter has three sisters named Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cottontail, so I wouldn't be surprised if those roles ended up going to Ridley, Debicki, and Robbie.

Also, while this movie marks a Star Wars reunion for Domhnall Gleeson and Daisy Ridley, this would be the third time Gleeson has worked with Robbie, following the 2013 romantic time travel drama About Time and the upcoming A.A. Milne biopic about the Winnie the Pooh creator, in which they play husband and wife. (That one's rumored to be called Goodbye Christopher Robin, but doesn't have an official title yet.)

Will Gluck (Easy A) is directing Peter Rabbit and took a pass at the script, and filming should begin in Robbie's native country of Australia this coming January.
