Maria Sten Joins Cast of DC's SWAMP THING
The Swamp Thing series on DC Universe has many fans interested in the streaming service, and now they’ve cast Maria Sten as Liz Tremayne. This will put Sten starring opposite Crystal Reed who is portraying Abby Arcane.
Abby and Liz are long-time friends and Deadline describes she "splits her time between reporting for the local paper and bartending at her aging father’s roadhouse bar. Her no-nonsense attitude belies a deep compassion for her friends and family as she sets out in her uncompromising quest to expose the secrets that threaten her beloved hometown."
Swamp Thing will follow "CDC researcher Abby Arcane, who returns to her childhood home of Houma, Louisiana, in order to investigate a deadly swamp-borne virus. She develops a surprising bond with scientist Alec Holland, only to have him tragically taken from her. But as powerful forces descend on Houma, intent on exploiting the swamp’s mysterious properties for their own purposes, Abby will discover that the swamp holds mystical secrets, and the potential love of her life may not be dead after all."
James Wan is bringing Swamp Thing to the streaming service under his Atomic Monster banner. The series will be written by Mark Verheiden and Gary Dauberman. Swamp Thing is scheduled for release in 2019 and the pilot episode is being directed by Len Wiseman (Underworld).
