Mario Would Lose His Arms Trying to Throw Bowser According to Science

Kyle Hill has asked a question that I had never even contemplated. Maybe it’s because I never played Super Mario 64, but even then, I’ve never heard anyone else ask this question before. His question is basically, when Mario throws Bowser by the tail, would that rip off Mario’s arms?

Well, Hill does what he does best and he looked at actual physics to answer the question. The short answer is yes, Mario’s arms would no longer be attached to his body. However, it’s always interesting to see the science and reasoning behind the solution.

What odd pop culture do you have that needs scientific answers?

Super Mario 64 brought everyone's favorite plumber into the 3rd dimension, and with him, his long time nemesis, Bowser. In their first 3D boss battle, Mario must grab Bowser by his tail, spin him around, and throw him towards a series of bombs in order to defeat his spiky foe.
