Mark Boal Set to Adapt FALL AND RISE: THE STORY OF 9/11 Limited Series for ABC

Mark Boal, known for writing and producing The Hurt Locker, Zero Dark Thirty, and Triple Frontier, has signed on to adapt the screenplay for a limited series for ABC based on the Mitchell Zuckoff book Fall and Rise: The Story of 9/11. Boal will add executive producing to his duties on the project that they are expecting to air in 2021, for the 20th anniversary of the September 11th attacks on the twin towers in New York City.

Variety describes the non-fiction novel and subsequent series as:

Zuckoff’s “Fall and Rise” chronicles the stories of those who were lost, saved and forever altered by the deadliest acts of terrorism on American soil.

This will be a hard one to watch, but it sounds like a lovely way to honor and remember the people whose lives were lost and broken by the tragedy. And the series is in great hands with Boal, who is also known for his work in journalism. Will you tune in?
