Mark Hamill Can't Even Explain This STAR WARS Plot Hole Involving R2-D2
Mark Hamill recently came across a Tweet regarding a glaring plot hole involving R2-D2. This isn’t a new plot hole that has just been discovered, this has been brought up in Star Wars conversations for years.
The plot hole involves the memory of R2-D2. You see, the R2 droid has never had his memory wiped and he is well-aware that Darth Vader is Anakin Skywalker and that Darth Vader is Luke Skywalker’s dad. The question is, why didn’t R2-D2 just tell Luke? He had all the answers the whole time but never thought to share that important information.
In response to this being pointed out, Hamill responded with, "I read this tweet, thought long and hard... then just shrugged and walked away.#NoPlausibleAnswer." You can see his Tweet below.
A definitive answer has never been given by the creators of the Star Wars franchise for R2's silence regarding Luke's parentage. But, I assume that R2 just didn’t think to tell him. He’s a droid and droids can be imperfect. Right? I don’t know!
