Mark Hamill Continues to Express His Disappointment with the Current STAR WARS Trilogy
Mark Hamill is back to stir the pot for Star Wars fans. While he says that he doesn’t want the fans to weaponize his comments against the filmmakers by jumping to the conclusion that he hates the new trilogy, we know that’s what a lot of fans will do.
There are just certain aspects of the new trilogy that have bugged him while he’s been making the films. One of them included a point in The Last Jedi where director Rian Johnson didn’t have any plans to have Luke Skywalker acknowledge C-3PO. He says:
"They had me walking by Threepio, not even acknowledging him.I said: ‘I can’t do that!’ [Rian Johnson] said: ‘okay, go over and do whatever’. So I went over, and I did whatever. They say in the script ‘forget the past, kill it if you have to’, and they’re doing a pretty good job."
He also isn’t happy that Luke never got the opportunity to reunite with Han Solo in the series. J.J. Abrams killed off Han before he got the chance:
"I just thought, Luke’s never going to see his best friend again. You look at it in a self-centred way. I said that it was a big mistake that those three people would never reunite in any way. I guess I was wrong, because nobody seems to care."
Now, I have really liked these new Star Wars films that have been made, but it really is a shame that Luke and Han never got to see each other. I don’t like that and it kinda makes me sad. At least they will always have their original adventures.
Hamill really needs to stop airing his Star Wars grievances if he wants the fans to stop hating on Star Wars, because his comments just fuel that. Who knows, maybe he secretly likes the fanboy drama!
