Mark Hamill Shares The Silliest Reoccurring Fight He Had With Carrie Fisher Over STAR WARS
A fan recently reached out to Mark Hamill on Twitter to ask him what the silliest fight he ever had with Carrie Fisher was. Hamill responded sharing that it was over one element of the big surprise reveal in Star Wars that Luke and Leia were brother and sister. It’s something that he always seemed to annoy her with. Here’s what he said:
When they told us it would soon be revealed we were siblings. Me:"Wait a minute, If Luke is Princess Leia's brother...does that make me royalty?" Her:(without a moment of hesitation )"NO!!!" I didn't really care, but she really, REALLY did, so I never let it go-EVER. 🤣#TrueStory https://t.co/Ga8hnWG4V1

With Padmé Amidala being the mother of both Luke and Leia, one might assume that they would both be royalty. But, Padmé was elected as Queen, she wasn’t born into it. So, her royal status wouldn’t be passed down to her kids. Leia's title of princess came through her adoptive mother, Queen Breha Organa of Alderaan, who was the wife of Senator Bail. Hence. So, no… Luke is not really royalty.
Regardless, it’s not hard to imagine Hamill and Fisher bickering over this little detail while shooting the film.
