Mark Hamill Warns Fans About Lightsaber Auction
Profiles in History, a major Hollywood auction house, is selling a lightsaber used by Mark Hamill in Star Wars: A New Hope. They are expecting it to sell for between $150,000-$200,000, but Hamill has a warning for fans. See, Profiles in History is listing it as “The original Mark Hamill ‘Luke Skywalker’ lightsaber” which is leading many to believe it is the only lightsaber prop used by Hamill. This is not true as Hamill sent out a tweet earlier this week.
Now, this does not mean that the prop being auctioned is not genuine. Rather, it is simply stating that this is not “the lightsaber,” simply “a lightsaber” used by Hamill while filming the original Star Wars film. Hamill himself said this is probably still a genuine prop.
Do you have the cash necessary to acquire this awesome piece of movie history, or do you need to trade in an arm and a leg for it?
