Mark Ruffalo Says He and Chris Hemsworth Basically Improvised The Whole Script For THOR: RAGNAROK

Director Taika Waititi took the Thor franchise and did something completely fresh and new with it when he made Thor: Ragnarok. Marvel fans loved how the film turned out, especially with the crazy and weird oddball humor that we weren’t expecting.

Well, I guess we can thank Ruffalo and Chris Hemsworth for a lot of those laughs because apparently they basically improvised the whole script! During an appearance at Tokyo Comic Con, Ruffalo said:

"We have a lot of fun. Actually, Chris Hemsworth who is here... Chris Hemsworth and I did 'Thor: Ragnarok' together, and we basically improvised the entire script, and we had an amazing time with Taika Waititi, and it was just a lot of fun: we shot in Australia, we played alot, we made a lot of jokes, and it was a great time."

I’d love to see a bunch of outtakes from this film of improvised scenes that didn’t end up in the final cut of the film. I bet there’s some pretty funny stuff and strange stuff that would entertain us!

Now, just to be clear, Ruffalo, Hemsworth, and Waititi didn’t make up the storyline as they went along. There was a script that existed, and there was definitely a story outline to follow. Ruffalo and Hemsworth just did a lot of improvisation with their dialogue along the way and it obviously worked out great!

It seems like the whole team had a blast working on this loose and improvisational filmmaking process. Now I can’t wait to see how Thor: Love and Thunder plays out!
