Mark Ruffalo Shares His Idea for a Solo HULK Marvel TV Series
One day we will see Mark Ruffalo back in the role of Bruce Banner/Hulk. The actor recently confirmed that he was in talks to appear in the She-Hulk series and there’s no doubt there are plans to bring him back on the big screen as well. But, Ruffalo says that Marvel Studios does have the ability to give the character his own solo project… as a TV series.
During C2E2, the actor explained: “Maybe we make it into a series and we jump through the Universal... Universal owns the rights to Hulk as a standalone movie, so that's really why we can't make one. But, we can do a TV show!”
That’s certainly a great option that is available to Marvel Studios thanks to Disney+. The actor goes on to share his idea for how he would handle the series, saying:
"I'd probably kind of start him on the run again a little bit. I think that really works and in this new digital age, we're all surveilled, that might be kind of an interesting dimension to how he stays on the run. That's probably where we'd start — him deciding 'I don't want to do this anymore,' but it's hard now because he's the professor. He's hard to hide."
If Marvel ended up developing a Hulk TV series with Ruffalo returning to play the character, I’d watch it! I love Ruffalo’s version of Hulk and a TV series continuing his journey in the MCU would be great. Who knows, maybe his role in She-Hulk could spin his story off in a whole new direction that Marvel could explore.
What would you like to see from a Hulk solo series?
