Mark Ruffalo Teases That Hulk and Bruce Banner are "Headed For a Showdown"
We already know that there is a three-part story arc for The Hulk that will play out over the course of three films. Those films are Thor: Ragnarok, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers 4. I won't get into what the relationship is like between Hulk and Banner in Infinity War right now because I know many of you still haven't seen the movie yet.
One thing is for sure though, each of these characters have their own personalities and we do learn more about the relationship between them. During a recent interview with James Cordon, Ruffalo offered a little tease of what might happen with these characters. He says that they are headed for a showdown:
"I'm not allowed to say anything. They're having a real problem. Let me just say this to you; the only person or thing in the universe that Hulk is afraid of is Banner. And the only one who Banner probably dislikes more than anything else is Hulk. And they're headed for a showdown."
Ruffalo previously talked about where the story for Hulk is going and one of the main things it revolves around is the fact that Hulk is starting to speak:
"Hulk speaking is the start to separating of these two individuals, these identities in this split-identity person, and where that's going to end up going. So it was really interesting to me. He's like a baby! He's like a five year old or six year old. So he has the same syntax, he has the same world view, and so it was fun."
I'm curious to see how Avengers 4 will continue this arc and where The Hulk and Bruce Banner will ultimately end up. You'll get more of a hint of where things are headed after you watch Avengers: Infinity War, which is now in theaters!
What are you hoping to see happen in Hulk's story arc?
