Mark Wahlberg and Charlie Hunnam In Talks to Join Netflix's TRIPLE FRONTIER
Netflix's thriller Triple Frontier is looking at starting production in August. Mark Wahlberg is now in talks to replace Ben Affleck, who dropped out of the project last week. The movie is going to shoot in Hawaii and Colombia and star Sons of Anarchy‘s Charlie Hunnam, Garrett Hedlund and Pedro Pascal (Game of Thrones).
Triple Frontier was moving forward at Paramount but got into trouble when Tom Hardy and Channing Tatum dropped out because of creative differences only a few weeks before the start of production. In May it was revealed that Netflix was pursuing the project while in talks with Ben and Casey Affleck.
Triple Frontier is written by Mark Boal with a rewrite by Chandor, it's a thriller set in the notorious border zone between Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil where the Iguazu and Parana rivers converge. This movie has had a lot of talented hands on it, at one point Katherine Bigelow had planned to direct, and at one time Tom Hanks, Will Smith and Johnny Depp were in talks to join.
