Mark Wahlberg and Reese Witherspoon's 1996 Thriller FEAR is Getting a Reimagining
Do you remember the 1996 relationship thriller Fear? In the movie, Reese Witherspoon plays a teenage girl who meets a seemingly perfect guy played by Mark Wahlberg. As the relationship progresses, he becomes dangerously obsessed with her, and a darker side is revealed as everything becomes unhinged and he goes crazy on her and her family.
Universal Pictures is now developing a re-imagining of the film with Straight Outta Compton co-writer, Jonathan Herman, who will write the script. Brian Grazer, the producer of the original film, will also come back to produce this remake.
The new take on the film is being kept under wraps, but apparently, the story will be told from a female perspective.
It's been a long time since I watched the first movie. I don't think I've seen it since it first came out in theaters when I was a teenager, but I remember that I was crushing on Reese Witherspoon at the time! I also remember thinking how bad an actor Mark Wahlberg was.
What do you think about Universal making a new Fear movie?
