Mark Wahlberg Says Director Michael Bay Will Return to TRANSFORMERS Franchise

Transformers: The Last Knight isn't performing at the box office as well as its previous films, in fact, it has had the lowest opening day of any Transformers franchise movie so far. And on top of that, the feature is expected to fall short of box office expectations.

We also know director Micheal Bay, who has directed all five Transformers movies has said that this will be his last. But The Last Knight star Mark Wahlberg believes that Bay is not done and will, in fact, come back to the franchise. Wahlberg says it’s not the first time Bay has said that. Here is what he told ComicBook.com:

"You know it’s one of those things where Michael has built this entire universe right, and he will decide what he wants to do and how he wants to do it. Right now he says he doesn’t want to do another film and he says that after every film because they are so difficult to make and he pretty much has to do it single-handedly, even with all the help that he has because all of the movie is in his mind. So he’ll decide that and I would be hard pressed to see him walk away and put it in somebody else’s control and care. I mean, that’s just the Michael that I know, but you never know, sometimes people decide to move on, so we’ll see what happens."

Meanwhile, Bay told Fandango that he isn't sure about what his next step will be. He's meeting with two stars (that he didn't name) that want to pair up in a buddy movie of some kind. Regardless of what Bay does do, we can count on there being lots of flashy, slow-mo shots and very large explosions.

What do you guys think, will Bay come back to the Transformers franchise, or is he really done for good?
