Marvel and Sony Give SPIDER-MAN 4 a New Release Date With a Slight Delay

Marvel and Sony have given a slight push back to the projected Spider-Man 4 release date, which had been slated for July 24, 2026. The film’s release has been delayed by just one week, and is now expected to hit our screens on July 31, 2026.

This will mean that the movie will more than likely not come out during San Diego Comic-Con, which often has a Marvel movie coinciding with the week. There still could be footage or even a screening involved, but we will just have to wait and see.

Up until recently, the project was still being described as an "Avengers-level event," but now it appears the focus has shifted toward a fresh take on Peter Parker’s journey.

Marvel and Sony are seemingly using this film as an opportunity to reshape the franchise, as these films have always been well-received, and the last film left Tom Holland’s Peter at a crossroads.

While not too much is known about Spider-Man 4, Holland did reveal a bit about the movie this past week. In a recent round of visits to various talk shows, Holland said that it will be “different” from what fans may think.

Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) is set to direct Spider-Man 4, taking over for Jon Watts, who helmed the first three Holland-led Spider-man “Home” movies. The script was penned by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, who wrote the first three films.

So far, fans can look forward to the following Marvel slate:
