Marvel Casts Ke Huy Quan in LOKI Season 2 and The First Footage Was Shared
Ke Huy Quan (The Goonies, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and Everything Anything All at Once) has joined the cast of Marvel’s Loki Season 2! This awesome casting news was dropped by Kevin Feige during Marvel’s D23 Expo presentation today and the fans went crazy over the casting.
Quan came out on stage along with the rest of the cast, which included Tom Hiddleston, Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Rafeael Casal, Wunmi Mosaku and Richard E. Grant.
When Quan came out, he joked, "I’m very confused: Is this not the Indiana Jones panel?", referencing his involvement with the franchise and the fact that Harrison Ford and the Indiana Jones 5 crew were up on stage earlier.
This addition of Quan is pretty exciting, and it’s awesome to see him back in action in these awesome projects after all these years. He’s going to be a great addition to the cast!
Fiege also presented the first trailer for Loki Season 2, which they aren’t releasing online yet. In the trailer, we see Loki back at the TVA but he’s being ripped through time in a trippy, glitchy way, saying "I’ve seen terrible, awful things".
Loki is also shown hammering through a wall, revealing head statues of Kang the Conquerer behind it and he says, "war is on its way." In another scene, Loki encounters Ke Huy Quan, who seems to be playing a TVA archivist.
There’s some footage of an old Hollywood-type premiere, and we see Sylvie is listening to records in a music shop. There’s a shot of Loki and Mobius wearing vintage tuxedos for some reason. There’s a bit of comic banter, and then it cuts to Loki falling through the middle of the TVA building.
The trailer ends with Loki saying: "I don't want you to think I'm the bad guy in all this." Mobius responds to this by saying: "Who says you were?" Then Loki amusingly replies by listing off all the people in the MCU that he’s come across that would consider him a villain.
If you’re a fan of the first season of Loki, then there’s no doubt you’re gonna love what’s in store for Season 2. It looks great!
Director Kate Herron and head writer Michael Waldron are coming back to work on Loki Season 2. Moon Knight directors Aaron Moorhead and Justin Benson are also set to helm episodes of the series. Eric Martin is writing all six episodes.
