Marvel Casts ORPHAN BLACK Star Tatiana Maslany as the Lead in Disney+'s SHE-HULK Series

Marvel has cast Tatiana Maslany in the role of Jennifer Walters, a.k.a. She-Hulk in the upcoming Disney+ She-Hulk series. Maslany is best known for her starring role in the popular BBC America series Orphan Black. She also most recently appeared in the HBO drama series Perry Mason.

I think Maslany is going to be great in She-Hulk! I never really considered her for part, but now that she’s been cast, I totally on board! This is a fantastic casting decision!

The series centers on Jennifer Walters (Maslany), “cousin of Bruce Banner who inherits his Hulk powers after she receives a blood transfusion from him. Unlike Bruce, however, when she hulks out, Jennifer is able to retain most of her personality, intelligence, and emotional control.”

It was recently reported that Kat Coiro will helm the pilot along with several other episodes. She will also serve as an executive producer. Rick and Morty writer Jessica Gao leads the writer’s room for the series.

Coiro has worked on several well-known shows in her career including Netflix’s Dead To Me, Showtime’s Shameless, and FX’s It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia. She also directed Life Happens and the upcoming film Marry Me starring Jennifer Lopez and Owen Wilson.

She-Hulk is one of several shows that Marvel is developing Disney+ including Falcon and the Winter Soldier, WandaVision, Loki, Hawkeye, Ms. Marvel, and Moon Knight.
