Marvel Comics Announces HEROES REBORN Coming in 2021
Marvel Comics has announced that Heroes Reborn will return in 2021. That announcement came in a tweet with an image and a caption that reads, "Heroes Reborn: Whatever happened to Earth's Mightiest Heroes?"
This is clearly a return to the 1996 Marvel Comics event Heroes Reborn, which at the time was a relaunch of several comic heroes, including The Avengers, and it was set in their own separate universe. Jim Lee, Rob Liefeld, Jim Valentino, Jeph Loeb and others worked on this series.
It will be interesting to see what Marvel is planning for the return of the series. The original Heroes Reborn took place after an epic battle with Onslaught, which saw many Marvel heroes sacrifice themselves to save the world. While they gave their lives to stop the powerful villain, they were saved by Franklin Richards, who had created a pocket universe for them to live in. That’s how Heroes Reborn was born.
The goal of the comic was to try and streamline all the continuity and give Marvel fans a fresh place to start. Things didn’t really work out the way they hoped. Heroes Reborn only lasted a year. The finale was rushed and the characters ended up being folded back into the main Marvel Universe with a series of specials titled Heroes Return.
There’s no other information on what the Heroes Reborn relaunch will entail, but we’ll find out!
