Marvel Comics Releases Cover Art For OLD MAN QUILL
Marvel Comics seems to like exploring the “Old Man” versions of certain characters. Old Man Logan was a great comic series and the Old Man Hawkeye series is going to conclude next month. Next up on docket is Old Man Quill and Marvel has released the first piece of cover art for the series featuring a much older version of the character.
We also have some additional details on the story that you can read below:
The comic is being written by Old Man Hawkeye writer Ethan Sacks and it sounds like it’s going to tell a compelling story that fans will love. While talking to Newsarama, Sacks talked about working on Old Man Quill and teases what’s in store for fans:
"We have gotten to see the saga of Logan and Hawkeye in the Wastelands, but there is literally a whole world - make that a whole galaxy - left to explore. There is so much potential in more visits to this deliciously awful place first dreamed up by Mark Millar and Steve McNiven a decade ago."
Sacks goes on to fill us in on some information regarding where the comic finds Quill, saying that he failed as the emperor of Spartax and the story will focus on Star-Lord as he gathers his team back together to right his wrongs:
"We find Peter in a dark place, so don't expect him to come out quipping one-liners. He's a lot more haunted than we're used to...at least at the beginning of his tale. This Star-Lord is a little bit reminiscent of the revenge-bent gunslinger that Steve Englehart first dreamed up in 1976… Though fortunately, there's always Rocket Raccoon to alleviate the tension in the room..."
Sacks goes on to talk about the Guardians of the Galaxy characters saying:
"They may look like aliens, but they're so darn human. The Guardians of the Galaxy are the quintessential misfits that find belonging with each other — even if they'll rarely admit it."
Old Man Quill will consist of 12-issues and the first one will hit comic stores in February. The art for the series will be created by Robert Gill with covers being provided by Andrea Sorrentino.
I’ll be looking forward to reading this! Are you excited about Marvel’s upcoming Old Man Quill comic series?
