Marvel Comics Reveals Disney-Inspired WHAT IF...? Variant Covers Featuring Mickey Mouse and Friends Mashups

Marvel Comics has revealed a new line of What If…? variant covers that feature Mickey Mouse and his friends on the covers of classic comics. We shared the first round of Disney1000 variant covers a few months ago, and they celebrate 100 years of the House of Mouse.

There are three Disney What If? Variant Covers including two by artist Lorenzo Pastrovicchio and another by Vitale Mangiatordi.

Pastrovicchio’s variant for Amazing Spider-Man #41 (on sale January 3) pays homage Jack Kirby and Dick Ayers’ cover art for 1963’s Avengers #1. His other variant for Amazing Spider-Man #43 (on sale February 14) pays homage Kirby and Sol Brodsky’s similarly iconic cover for 1963’s X-Men #1.

Mangiatordi’s variant for Amazing Spider-Man #45 (on sale March 6) pays haomage to Kirby and Brodsky’s cover for 1965’s Avengers #16.
