Marvel Directors Visit The Set of THE MANDALORIAN
Director Jon Favreau has posted a new photo from the set of his Star Wars series The Mandalorian. The photo doesn’t show anything new from the series, but it does feature a bunch of Marvel movie directors!
You’ve got Favreau, who directed the first two Iron Man films. Then there’s Joe and Anthony Russo, the directors of Captain America: Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, and Avengers: Infinity War, as well as Avengers 4. The photo also includes Peyton Reed, who brought us Ant-Man and Ant-Man and The Wasp. Finally there’s director Taika Waititi, who brought us Thor: Ragnarok.
Favreau and Waititi are the only two filmmakers that are involved with The Mandalorian at this point. But, who knows, maybe somewhere down the line as the series continues these other directors may be brought on board to help with some episodes!
It’s just kinda cool to see all these Marvel directors hanging out on the set of a Star Wars project.
The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, and maybe even Carl Weathers (Rocky, Predator). Jon Favreau wrote and produced the series, which is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order and follows “a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.”
The episodes will also be directed by Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars), Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope), and Bryce Dallas Howard (Solemates). Howard will also have a role in the series, and Waititi will provide the voice of a droid character.
The series is set to premiere on Disney+ sometime next year.
