Marvel Drops Epic AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY Footage at Comic-Con Featuring Doctor Doom Dominating Earth’s Mightiest Heroes

Marvel Studios always knows how to turn Hall H into the hottest ticket at San Diego Comic-Con, but this year the studio managed to surprise everyone before the panel even began.

When Marvel released the first teaser for Avengers: Doomsday five days before Comic-Con, it felt like the big reveal had already happened. Fans immediately started wondering what could possibly be left to show.

The answer? A whole lot.

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige took the stage alongside directors Joe Russo and Anthony Russo, bringing out nearly two dozen members of the massive cast before treating Hall H attendees to an exclusive first look at footage from the film.

Judging by the reaction inside the room, Marvel knew exactly what it was doing. The audience completely lost it! Every reveal, every line, every action beat had fans screaming. The energy inside Hall H was absolutely electric.

Before the footage even rolled, Marvel tossed in one more surprise.

Someone dressed in a gray, almost denim-looking Deadpool suit walked on stage sounding suspiciously like Ryan Reynolds.

Deadpool joked about wanting to be in the movie, prompting the Russo brothers to explain that filming had wrapped but they’d still be open to additional photography.

Was that Marvel’s playful way of teasing Deadpool’s appearance in Avengers: Doomsday? It certainly felt that way.

Then came the footage, and wow… it was absolutely incredible!

The preview opens with Doctor Doom sitting on a golden throne in full armor while green energy pulses beneath him.

It’s an imposing image that immediately establishes just how powerful and commanding Victor Von Doom has become.

As the camera lingers on him, Sue Storm delivers an emotional narration.

“Victor was always the smartest guy in every room. He used to be different. Then everything he loved was taken from him.”

Doom sits before the same painting featured on the teaser poster as Sue continues. “I knew he was lost, but didn’t realize he was broken.”

She’s addressing a gathering of heroes, setting the stage for what looks like one of Marvel’s biggest conflicts yet.

The footage then sweeps across what appears to be a completely devastated city. Reed Richards looks around in disbelief before asking: “Victor. Did you do this?”

From there, the trailer unleashes a rapid-fire montage of emotional moments, including a grieving Magneto, Charles Xavier, Steve Rogers holding a baby, and several other characters whose fates remain a mystery.

Then Doom speaks. “All of you have lived storied lives. And now you must give them back.”

That line alone set the crowd off. Things only got crazier from there!

Doom leaps from a towering building, crashes to the ground in classic superhero fashion, and immediately faces off against Thor.

The God of Thunder charges with Stormbreaker and delivers one of the trailer’s coolest moments.

“I swear you’ll beg for Hell when I’m through with you,” he yells.

Without breaking a sweat, Doom raises a single finger and completely stops Thor’s attack.

Thor strains with everything he’s got, but Doom doesn’t budge. Then, with a flick of green energy, he sends Thor flying before delivering one of the coldest lines in the footage.

“Hell answers to me.”

As he says it, giant Sentinels burst from the earth around him.

Seriously… what?!

Everything about this sequence was massive. Doom already feels like an overwhelming force, and Marvel seems determined to establish him as one of the MCU’s most intimidating villains.

The Russo brothers aren’t pulling any punches with this!

Fans inside Hall H were going absolutely wild as each new reveal played across the screen.

I was there listening to the deafening cheers when Thor’s attack was effortlessly stopped or when those Sentinels emerged from the ground. It was one of those unforgettable Comic-Con moments people will be talking about for years.

Marvel will almost certainly have even more to reveal during D23, but after hearing about this footage, it’s hard not to get excited about what’s coming.

If Doom is this dominant from the start, Earth’s Mightiest Heroes are going to have a hard time coming out of this alive.

Avengers: Doomsday arrives in theaters on December 18, and after this Hall H presentation, the wait feels even longer.
