Here’s a fun piece of fan-made art for a live-action Marvel Zombies What If…? spinoff titled Avengers: Zombies. The poster was created by artist @letsencreate, who shared it on Instagram. It features zombie versions of Scarlet Witch, Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Hawkeye, and Black Widow assembling to… eat people’s brains.

The artist shared the following note:

Finally, I finished creating my re-imagination of #marvel #whatif #zombies in the form of a dark and twisted ensemble of the #avengers zombies. I took direct references for #ironman #captainamerica #hawkeye and #scarletwitch from the WhatIf...? episode five, and for #hulk #thor and #blackwidow I referred to the OG #marvelcomics series - #marvelzombies (2005-2006).

If you like the composition, then I would like to take a moment to mention my biggest inspirations @phase_runner and @asabinart . PhaseRunner and his exceptionally mind-blowing work gave me the confidence to even attempt a big project like this in the first place. And Max Asabin's undisputed fantabulous work and videos on various concepts like highlights, placement, masking have been indispensable throughout the composition. Can't thank you enough. You guys have always been the inspiration.

As for the composition, I wanted to go with the first six Avengers in the first MCU Avengers Movie. But after seeing ScarletWitch in the WhatIf...? episode, I had to include her for obvious reasons. And in case you are wondering where Spiderman, Dr Strange, BlackPanther and the others are...hey we need someone to save the day...right?

This has been my most extended edit, with more than twenty hours of works spanned over two weeks. If you would like to see the making-of and the break-down, be sure to watch the video on my YouTube channel. The link is in my bio.

I’m not sure if we’ll ever see a line-action Marvel Zombies film, but at least it was explored and played with in the What If…? animated series!
