We still have yet to see how these Marvel multiverse stories play out in the upcoming What If…? series coming to Disney+. We have some details on some of the stories that the episodes will tell and we know one of them will feature Spider-Man as a zombie hunter.

Well, we’ve now learned that at one point, there was an episode that would have featured Peter Parker transforming into a werespider! This is based on an original What If…? comic arc that featured Parker turning into a spider! This is something that would have been a ton of fun to see, but apparently it was too dark for Disney+. The story ended up being dropped because it would have crossed the PG-13 lines that Disney and Marvel have set.

During a recent interview with The Post-Credit Podcast, series writer AC Bradley shared:

"There was a couple of episodes that were just a little too dark. There was an original What If...? [comic] run I believe where Spider-Man turns into a real spider, and that was just too dark and too body horror for their PG-13."

She went on to talk about how much fun she had working on the series, saying:

"But it was a blast! You said it yourself, we were basically given the keys to the toy store. Go have fun and make sure everything was different. Don't give us ten of the same, give us ten of the most different stories you can come up with.' I hope Bryan and I have achieved that."

While it would have been awesome to see Marvel’s Spider-Man werespider story adapted for the series, it’s still going to be a fun show to watch! Marvel's What If...? is set for release on Disney+ beginning August 11th.
