Marvel Is Developing GHOST RIDER and HELSTROM Shows for Hulu!
There are two new Marvel shows coming to Hulu that I’m sure a lot of fans are going to be excited about. Marvel is developing series for Ghost Rider and Helstrom! Both of the shows are scheduled to debut on Hulu in 2020.
The Ghost Rider series is said to focus on the Robbie Reyes version of the character, not Johnny Blaze. “Reyes is consumed by hellfire and supernaturally bound to a demon. Reyes lives on the Texas/Mexico border and when he unleashes the Rider, Robbie brings vengeance for the innocents he encounters, but struggles to control the power he wields.”
We saw a version of Robbie Reyes in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and he was played by Gabriel Luna. There’s no word on if the S.H.I.E.L.D. version of the character is going to be the same one that we’ll see in the Hulu series. I wouldn’t mind the series being a complete reboot and new vision of the character.
The series will be executive produced by Ingrid Escajeda, who will also serve as showrunner, Paul Zbyszewski and Marvel’s Jeph Loeb.
As for Helstrom, the series will focus on Daimon and Ana Helstrom, who are the son and daughter of a mysterious and powerful serial killer. “The siblings have a complicated dynamic as they track down the terrorizing worst of humanity — each with their attitude and skills.”
There’s a connection between Ghost Rider and Helstrom. In the comics, Daimon Hellstrom is the son of Satan, and he appeared in the Ghost Rider comics and he had the ability to travel back and forth between hell. His sister’s name was Satana in the comics. The series is obviously reimagining the characters.
I think one thing was can expect from these shows, though, is that they will cross over with each other.
Marvel’s Helstrom will be executive produced by Paul Zbyszewski, who will serve as showrunner and Marvel’s Jeph Loeb.
