Marvel is Making Two Nonfiction Projects for Disney+

In addition to all the Marvel films and TV shows coming to Disney+ that focus on Earth’s mightiest heroes, Marvel is working on two nonfiction projects. Marvel’s Hero Project sounds like it’s going to be more about everyday heroes in our communities with a focus on amazing children.

“Marvel’s Hero Project” reveals the remarkable, positive change several young heroes are making in their own communities. These inspiring kids have dedicated their lives to selfless acts of bravery and kindness, and now, Marvel celebrates them as the true Super Heroes they are.

The other project is currently being called Marvel’s 616 and it will serve as “an anthological documentary series exploring the intersection between Marvel’s rich legacy of stories, characters and creators and the world outside your window.” Each part sounds like it will be a documentary tackled by a different filmmaker to explore the cultural, historical, and societal context behind the Marvel Universe.

We know Disney+ will launch on November 12, 2019, but there’s no word on if these new projects will launch with the service or come at a later date. I think both of these projects have potential and I’ll probably check out at least the first episode of each. What about you?
