Marvel is On The Hunt For a Female Director To Take on BLACK WIDOW and Here's Who They've Met With

While the script for Black Widow is being written by Jac Schaeffer, Marvel Studios is looking for a female director to take on the challenge of developing it. In a recent report from THR, we learned of three individuals that the studio has met with. Those directors are Deniz Gamze Erguven (the Turkish movie Mustang), Chloe Zhao (The Rider), and Amma Asante (A United Kingdom), among others.

I'm not familiar with any of these directors, but Marvel has a solid track record of hiring great directors to develop their films. So with whoever they end up bringing on board, I'm sure the movie will be in good hands.

Since Marvel is still in the process of looking, anyone could end up in the director's chair at this point. It was recently reported that the movie would be a prequel story and it would involve Black Widow and The Winter Soldier.

"The film will find Natasha living in the United States 15 years after the fall of the Soviet Union! That timeline places the film firmly in the mid-2000s, meaning we'll meet up with Nat prior to the events of Iron Man 2. That time frame opens up plenty of options, and while many fans seem to want a Black Widow/Hawkeye team up in Budapest, we've been told that early discussions about the film involved Sebastian Stan's Winter Soldier."

I think that would be an interesting a fun direction to take it. I do hope that her past is explored in a little more depth because it's so intriguing.

Who would you like to see jump on board to direct the film?
