Marvel is Producing Audiobooks For Several of its Iconic Comic Book Stories
Marvel Entertainment is teaming up with Dreamscape Media to produce and distribute a few dozen of Marvel’s iconic comic book stories as audiobooks.
This is actually pretty cool, especially for fans who just don’t have the time to find and read some of these comics. Some of the comic books that will get the audiobook treatment include The Ultimate Spider-Man, The Ultimate X-Men, X-Men: Codename Wolverine and Daredevil: The Man Without Fear, “with works coming from author like David Michelinie, Tony Isabella, Len Wein, Marv Wolfman and Peter David.”
On top of the two dozen titles that are being produced, there will be an additional 20 titles that haven’t been widely distributed before. The titles will be made available for sale, and also added to the free library lending app Hoopla, starting in September.
Dreamscape Media publisher Tammy Faxel had this to say in a statement:
“Marvel Entertainment has changed pop culture with its emphasis on character‐driven stories that bring out the superhero in all of us. We are proud to collaborate with Marvel Entertainment to give fans a new way to connect with their favorite superheroes.”
This is pretty cool and I’ll be looking forward to seeing the full collection of Marvel Comics audiobooks that end up coming from this partnership.
